Meeting Roy Pierpoint

Last Wednesday the ChalkStar team took a trip to the the beautiful county of Devon, where we met up with The Brode and the man that infamously beat him and Run Baby Run in a Rover P6 that was being developed for Endurance Racing by the then BMC’s Works Team at Abingdon.

It was a lovely day for the trip, we filmed Roy and David on the veranda amongst the rolling hills at Roy’s North Devon home. David and Roy talked about racing in the 60’s and 70’s to the camera and David gave Roy a print of Roy’s victory at Brands Hatch in 1970.

On a personal level it was great meeting Roy Pierpoint and wonderful to hear Roy talk about his British Saloon Car Championship winning season. He talked about racing against the great Jim Clark in his Alan Mann Racing prepared Mustang V8. It’s such a privilege to to record memories like this.

Then it was off to lunch, with the crew and the two veteran drivers and Roy’s wife Jacqui, exchanging wonderful stories, off camera, of racing in years gone by and the characters they had the privillege to know.
